I first went to see Cheryl in the fall of 2000. I had active Crohn's Disease, and was still recovering from bowel resection surgery that I'd had the previous fall. I suppose I thought the surgery would basically take care of the issues I was having, which included intense nausea, intestinal cramping and fatigue. Surgery did help with the cramping, but the nausea and fatigue had come back with a vengeance. I could simply not gain any weight, and I didn't feel like I was digesting anything at all. I was tired, skeletally thin, and frustrated, so my parents and I made the decision that something had to be done. I had tried the drug and surgery method – now it was time to try something else.
Cheryl's methods were a revelation to me. She taught me immediately to stop thinking of myself as a patient or a sick person, and start feeling that I was getting well. Her testing and personal knowledge helped me eliminate problem foods and add necessary supplements. I very quickly felt my strength and energy begin to return, and slowly my weight began to come back as well. She also motivated me to think about food differently. Being nauseous for essentially three years had brought about a negative feeling in me toward food in general. She allowed me to begin to think of food as a healing force. She helped restore the joy of living to me during a very bleak time.
Over the years, I have referred numerous friends and acquaintances to Cheryl. These people have invariably come back to me to share a renewed enthusiasm for maintaining a healthy life. I will continue to recommend Cheryl to everyone I know. She truly has the gift of healing.
